iGolf La Cala | Four Trackman Simulators & Integrated Zen Green Technology

Located in the heart of one of Spain’s most popular golfing destinations, the iGolf La Cala project was designed to create a premium indoor golf facility capable of serving recreational golfers, dedicated practice enthusiasts and PGA professionals alike. Black Box Golf was selected to design and install four TrackMan simulator bays, delivering a versatile venue that balances coaching, practice and entertainment.

The installation comprised two open simulator bays alongside two private rooms. One private studio was dedicated to professional coaching and club fitting, providing a distraction-free environment for lessons and detailed player analysis. The second private room was designed for individual practice, allowing golfers to enjoy uninterrupted sessions using TrackMan’s industry-leading ball and club data.

To complement the simulator experience, we designed and installed a large custom putting green featuring multiple regulation cups. Positioned as the centrepiece of the venue, the green allows visitors to warm up before their simulator session, continue practising while waiting for a bay to become available, or enjoy informal putting competitions with friends. It has become an important social feature within the facility, encouraging golfers to spend more time at the venue.

The standout feature of the project was the integration of a full Zen Green Stage within the coaching studio. At the time, this represented one of the most advanced coaching environments available. The system enabled coaches to recreate a wide variety of putting slopes and gradients, helping players develop confidence on breaking putts while also demonstrating how uneven lies influence swing technique and ball flight. This created an immersive learning environment that closely replicated the challenges encountered on a real golf course.

While this installation was truly cutting edge when completed, golf technology continues to evolve rapidly. Today’s integration of TrackMan IO with the latest Zen Swing Stage takes the concept even further, synchronising the moving platform directly with the simulator software to recreate real-world slopes automatically during play. It’s an exciting evolution of the vision first demonstrated at iGolf La Cala, and one that represents the next generation of immersive indoor golf experiences.
